Fife Structure Plan
Fife Council voted for the Fife Structure Plan without
amendment on Thursday 27th April 2006.
29 members of Fife Council voted against the Fife Structure
Plan in its current form.
The impact for Cupar is 1450 new houses being built along with
a northern relief road. The relief road is being funded totally
by selected developers. The map outlines the route of the
relief road and the outline of the 1200 houses assigned to pay
for the relief road.

Cupar residents have said to the Fife Council on three separate
occasions that they do not want development on this scale.
The Fife Structure Plan will now come under some scrutiny at
Holyrood leading to a public inquiry where once again Cupar
residents can say NO to this size of development.
Fife Council is made up of the following:
Labour: 36 members
Liberal Democrats: 23 members
SNP: 12 members
Conservative: 2 members
Left Alliance: 2 members
Independent: 2 members
LHC: 1 member
Labour Fife Councillors were instructed by a three line whip to
vote YES to the Structure Plan.
